Val Davis, 'Immortal'
‘Immortal’ by Val Davis is both solemn and reflective. In the title track, “Immortal” Davis sings, “Lately I’ve been thinking about the way my life is going/ All the things I used to know, I don’t seem to be knowin’/ All the knowledge in the world has now been handed down/ And is firmly in the grasp of every eighteen year old in town/ they are immortal for now.” The entire album conjures up nostalgic and contemplative emotions. ‘Immortal’ is quiet, but its message is loud: what we know is just as slippery and evasive as age, but you must keep moving on positively. -Michael Fecher
